Low self esteem, anxiety, and depression are often related to past experiences and maladaptive coping strategies. Often these coping strategies are developed at an earlier age and are no longer helpful.
Making these important connections between past experiences and present day feelings gives us the opportunity for greater self awareness, and a better understanding of what drives our current day reactions and behaviors. By strengthening our ability to recognize overwhelming emotions, along with developing and implementing healthy coping strategies to manage powerful emotions, we create the opportunity for change. Changes which can lead to a sense of well being, healthier and more intimate relationships, and a more fulfilled life.
